Homemade Dog Biscuits

How to make Peanut butter and Carrot Dog Biscuits

Be in the know about what ingredients are going into your dog biscuits. Our Lab puppy Rosie loves to eat more or less anything in sight I had no idea on what was good for them and what was full of crap so I decided to have a browse and find a recipe I thought she would like.

I couldn’t believe how easy it was. I  thought It was going to be all technical and stuff with all sorts of weird and wonderful ingredients but nope, now I am going to experiment with what I can put in my next batch, I’m thinking Apple and Carrot.

So here is how you make Peanut butter and carrot dog biscuits 🙂

What you will need:

  • 2 cups of whole wheat flour

  • 1 cup of rolled oats

  • 1/4 of a cup of no added salt or sugar peanut butter

  • 1 carrot, grated

  • 1 cup of warm water

  • 1 egg white

I brought my Bone cookie cutters of eBay. Mine is plastic and flimsy so I would recommend getting a metal one.

The Method:

  1. Preheat the oven to 190C.

  2. Mix all of the ingredients in a bowl and turn out onto a floured surface. Knead for a few minutes until fully combined and roll out to 1 centimetre thick.

  3. Using a cookie cutter, cut the dough and keep rolling out until all the dough is used.

  4. Place on a lined baking tray, brush with egg white and bake in the oven for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool fully and store in an airtight jar.

  5. These Biscuits will be good for a whole month.

One very happy puppy dog.

(not that she looks it haha)
