Game review | Shark Chase by IDEAL

Escape the shark to be the winner, swim too slow and you’ll be his dinner!

We are back with another game review, and this time we have been sent Shark chase by IDEAL. I love playing kid’s games that don’t drag on and on. Shark case is another fun and easy quick game to play.

Try not to get eaten!

Each player has three sea creature which is used once per round, a game consists of three rounds. The aim of the game is to get your sea creature to the island without getting eaten by the moving shark. You need to swim as far away from the Shark’s mouth as fast as you can so it’s best to allocate someone who isn’t playing the game as your dice roller and caller.

What’s in the box?

  •  x1  Shark ( requires 2 AA batteries)
  • x12 Sea creatures
  • x1  Boardgame
  • x1  Island
  • x2  Dice

Shark Chase has an age recommendation of 4 years plus and player requirement of two to four people.

Here is what we thought:

As a parent, I loved it. It was a quick, fun and engaging game to play with the kids. It’s simple enough that they wouldn’t really need your help after a few rounds and you could sit back, spectate and be the dice roller for them. There weren’t any shouting or arguments although it does get very loud as the shark draws closer which is quite funny watching them in suspense. They have to listen out for their colour to be called in order to move a space so they would need to concentrate, listen and thinks fast.

Shark Chase is available to buy at all good toy stores. To see the latest games and reviews, why not join the Ideal games facebook page here.

Disclosure: We received the sample for the purposes of writing this review, however, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
