Lucky Fortune – WEAR YOUR LUCK & COMPETITION

Crack ’em, Wear ’em, Find your Luck and Share ’em

Lydia and I had a really fun day together in London to celebrate the launch of WowWee’s brand new, exciting, collectable toy cookies.

What is Lucky Fortune?

Lucky Fortune are toy fortune cookies that include a surprise bracelet with a charm inside and a paper fortune for good luck.

They are set to be the coolest and luckiest collectable must-have for the stylish fan.

In series one, there are 100 different bracelets to collect with four levels of rarity, as well as the desired ultra lucky real gold-dipped four-leaf clover.  The Lucky fortune cookies also double up as a key chain for little keepsakes. Lydia and Emily love key chains and have decided to attach theirs to their school bags and have given mummy one for her keys.

I love everything about these charm bracelets and what they promote, they look gorgeous and you can tell that a lot of love, thought and imagination has gone into creating and designing these from the charm itself down to the fortune cookie fastener and the little beads on the end to stop them falling apart.

When someone mentions charm bracelet, you instinctively think of girls jewellery, don’t you? Well, not these. As you can see from the collectors guide below, there are plenty of unisex charms to collect. Even mum and dad can wear them. (I love wearing mine)

Next, to each charm on the collector’s guide, there is a sparkle that is coloured in either white, pink or orange and this will tell you how lucky you are.

Where can I buy them?

They will be available to buy from Smyths Toystore from June and can be purchased in a single pack for £4.99 or in a pack of four for £14.99

The Launch

The launch was brilliant! Lydia had been counting down the days and couldn’t ‘wait to find out more about what this exciting new trend was about; especially as they are brand new in the UK.

The room was beautifully decorated in purple balloons and Lucky Fortune backdrops for plenty of photo opportunities. The tables were set up for a selection of different activities for the children to take part in.

  • There were two tables set up especially for the children to ‘un-box’ the Lucky Fortune cookies.
  • Sweet and cake table
  • Hair station
  • Nail station
  • Face/ hand painting
  • They could also have their fortune told by a real-life fortune teller in the form of a genie, which Lydia thought was amazing.

How Lucky Fortune was born

I got to ask the creator of Lucky Fortune’s Sydney Wiseman how she came up with the Idea of collectable charm bracelets in fortune cookies and here is her answer.

I was eating Thai food with my sister in Montreal, and they give fortune cookies at the end of the meal! I’ve always been superstitious and I got a paper fortune I loved and I went to save it in my wallet (I usually do that with the good ones!) and as I was doing it… I was like “wait..fortune cookie..great blind device..saving your luck..what could we make that’s unique to come in a fortune cookie that’s not another character collectable that will empower kids! And make them feel extra lucky!”

And then I thought small pretty charm bracelet! I also felt very strongly about making it a bracelet program vs a charm bracelet programme so that you can wear a lot of luck on your sleeve! Vs one bracelet with lots of charms (I felt that was a tad overdone too!)

We also got to meet some of our fellow Instagram and Youtube friends, which was pretty awesome too.

Lydia was really excited to tell her little sister Emily all about her day and to share her goody bag with her. You can watch their Un-boxing video below.

My 5 girls would appreciate things like this and love them. As a mother of 7 the answer is mostly no to when they want something new that comes out as they cost a fortune and mostly end up with second hand things and passed me down items. So to win these would be awesome. X
