The Knight Tribe- Yumbox Classic from Eatwell UK- Our review

The Knight Tribe-Yumbox

Making the children’s packed lunch every day can be soo boring, they either come back at the end of the day with most of the contents half eaten or with food still in its packaging/wrapper. It can also get very boring for your child opening up their lunch bag to more or less the same thing, so why not make it exciting for them with a Yum box.

The Yumbox Classic

What is it: A 6-compartment Yumbox; perfect for young children (toddlers up to roughly age 8).

Its compact size and illustrated tray makes every lunch an adventure in good nutrition.

Now I know your thinking how expensive it is for a lunch box. However I can honestly say it’s worth every penny, Emily and Lydia always bring it home empty and they are great for days out too.

If you wanted to jazz their lunches up even more, you can buy accessories like a carry case, extra trays, Lunch punches, plastic kebab skewers for fruit and then just let your imagination run wild.

This is what ours look like

As you can see from my photo’s, these are some of the lunches I have made for the girls, they look forward to seeing whats inside when it’s lunchtime. I also make them fun by adding little edible eyes.

I am looking forward to experimenting more with our Yumbox and would 100% reccomend it to parents/carers with young children.

*I received one Yumbox in return for an honest and open review, all opinions are my own.***

The Knight Tribe- Children’s formal wear from Roco clothing – Review

www.rococlothing.co.uk

Roco Clothing offers a huge variety of children’s high quality, affordable formal wear and accessories to suit all occasions. Weddings, christenings, proms, communions and parties.

The majority of the time when I buy dresses for the girls I would chose pink, but lately I am actually steering away and going for pastel colours. I still love pink, but as my girls are now getting older, I just feel that I should really experiment with other colours on them.

After browsing through their website I decided to go for the floor length, mint colour halter neck Phillipa dress and gold orchid shoes by Paisley of London for Lydia. When it arrived, oh my word, it was even more beautiful in real life. As you can see from the photos, the detail in it is stunning and everything about it screams elegance. The shoes have a small block heel and beautiful flower detail on the front.

For Emily I chose the blue pleated Elsa dress and white bloom shoes by Paisley of London.

Emily would usually turn her nose up at the colour blue, because pink is her favourite colour however, she LOVES this dress and said she feels like a princess wearing it. It really brings out her piercing bright blue eyes as well. The design is beautiful, with a bow on the back of the dress that opens and closes with a popper button.  The shoes are beautiful and look so cute on her; they are her new favourites.

For Leo we chose a 5 piece grey formal suit that came in its own dress bag. The quality again was second to none.

I am so impressed by the quality of these garments. Both dresses and the suit have a good weight to them and you can see and feel just how good the quality is. They all come with protective bags and shoe boxes, so they can be stored nicely when not being worn. This to me shows how much they care about their clothes.

I can thoroughly reccomend this company so if you are looking for high quality children’s suits, dresses and accessories that dont break the bank, then you absolutley must check out their website.

You can also follow them on Twitter and Instagram.

Rosie’s 1 year update

We brought our new family member Rosie the Labrador retriever home in August 2017, she was born June 16th 2017 and came from a litter of 11 pups. We all loved her the moment we saw her. She was the smallest pup of the litter took a liking to us straight away, we had to have her. It has been hard but we have no regrets.

Malting

It’s Insane how much hair comes off her, just giving her a little fuss and the hair is flying off in all different directions.  I vacuum my house 2 to 3 times a day with my much-loved Shark, if you do not have one I would seriously look into buying one, especially with a dog. I am not exaggerating when I say I can fill our cylinder up 3-4 times a day with just dog hair on my rug alone.

Food

Since changing to Millies wolfheart dry food back in Jan this year, she finally has solid poop.  Her farts still make my mum throw up but we discovered that they really stink after she has had a bone, also rawhide is now banned in our because it gives her the trots.

She does love these treats from Forthglade which as you can see come in the shape of a love heart and can be snapped into 2 pieces, and they don’t irritate her little belly.

Walking

We have a lovely embankment with a huge field where we live and a meadow just outside our back gate.  In my last update, I wrote about how she pulls on the lead and it was really starting to grate on me and I wasn’t enjoying walkies anymore. We purchased a Halti and it has transformed her, it is like as soon as the halti is on she goes into working mode.

the knight tribe-Rosie

We let her off the lead by the embankment and on the fields as there isn’t a lot of people around. she is a very friendly dog so I have never panicked when we see someone, I just have to be quick as she’s off to say hello.

We started training as soon as we brought her home and she is getting a lot better on her walks, her recall could be better but we are still working on that. She loves running through all the long grass and finding huge sticks to bring back to me.

Recently we have been working on her smelling sense as I thought it would be something new and fun to do with her. We use cocktail sausages and she is doing well with it.

We have been very lucky and was sent a very beautiful crushed velour lead and collar set by The Mutley Crew for Rosie to wear on our walks, red really suits her. Every walk we get compliments on her and her velour attire, I cannot recommend them enough.

This collar has been in rivers, snow and mud and still looks as good as the day we first received it, which goes to show just how high the quality is. If you don’t own a set yet then you have to go and check them out, I guarantee there will be something/s you will love.

Socialising

We don’t have a problem with this aspect at all, She is so friendly and loving and will just spend her time kissing you. She has a few doggie friends in our area, 3 of them which are Labradors and around the same age which she regularly plays with.

We do however have a problem with her getting too excited when someone comes to our house she will literally knock them over by jumping up at them to say hello. I would love your input on how to stop this please if you can shed a light.

Home life

I think because of her size I forget she is still a puppy so when she does things like take the kids toys and run outside so they chase her around the garden I try not to get too annoyed and get the toy before she personalises it with her teeth. Kristoff is missing a foot and Moana is missing a hand and the play food which the kids keep leaving outside is well and truly decapitated.

She is a playful, loving, loyal, fun, happy, energetic, very much loved puppy in our home and we couldn’t imagine life without her. I  love how she will come and lay by my feet and wrap her paws around my ankle like she is cuddling me. I love how placid she is with the kids, I love the very strange sleeping positions she gets her self in, I love how excited she is to see us when we walk in.

All that aside, she has ruined our garden which is now currently being slabbed.

Sleeping

Rosie has been crate trained since the first day we brought her home, which for all of us works well as I am not out for long durations anyway. At night times all we have to say is “Rosie, go to bed ” and she takes her self to her crate, she gets a kiss and a cuddle and we see her again 7 the next morning. As she gets older we are hoping to abolish the crate and give her some freedom. During the evenings she loves cuddling up on the sofa, she sleeps with her head tucked into her front paws and it is soo cute.

Breeding

I really wanted to let her have the experience of being a mummy. I did all my research regarding health checks and costs as well as what it would entail. We were going to wait till she was 2 before starting the process, however now I have changed my mind and thinking of having her spayed.

From bringing her home at 9 weeks old, it hasn’t been easy but it has been so rewarding and as she gets older she is getting soo much better. So for anyone thinking of getting a dog please read my previous posts because I’m not going to lie I regretted getting her for a while because I couldn’t deal with the poo, the walks, the chewing, the dog hair, the zoomies. I was used to a tidy dog hair free home however I knew I wasn’t going to give up and persevered and the chewing calmed down, the walks are now fun because of our training, the poo is solid and not in the house like it was when she was learning, I’m on top of the dog hair with my shark vacuum and she is so lovely.

Chicken Pox -Emily’s turn

Ding Ding Round 2

The saga continues 13 days after Lydia’s first spot appeared. Emily came home from pre-school yesterday trying to scratch her back so my mum had a look at her back where she was itchy and sure enough, there are spots with clear liquid blisters there, only about 4 but definitely chicken pox.Chicken pox emilyEmily Chicken pox

Day 2

She seems well in herself this morning, she had a good full nights sleep. She woke up with a few more but not covered. Luckily I didn’t use all of the Virasoothe and Poxclin and have lots left. It says on the back use within 30 days. As the day progressed she wasn’t her usual self she turned very emotional clingy and reserved.

Day 3

Another full nights sleep for her last night. She woke up happy with a few more spots appearing but well in herself. She ate her breakfast and our plan for today was to just chill on the sofa together and do nothing. throughout the day you could see more spots appearing and she was starting to feel uncomfortable so I made sure I kept covering her with the Poxclin I had stored in the fridge and she spent the whole day with a very light large cotton T-shirt on and I kept her hydrated on ice poles when she didn’t want her juice. Milly has about 3 blisters around her mouth, lots in and around her ears, in her hair, in and around her bum crack and front bum, in the palms of her hands and under her armpits. She has started to feel poorly this afternoon and her temp was creeping up so I gave her calpol and she had a lovely little nap. She is being a little soldier.

Day 4

Today was peak day, I thought it was yesterday but she has woke up absolutely covered and feeling very uncomfortable and itchy. She spent most of the day having little naps and in-between the naps she was having oaty baths. She also needed regular doses of Piriton syrup to help ease the itching as well as calpol to keep her fever down. As well as previously trying Virasoothe and Poxclin I decided to try calamine lotion for the 1st time. It was like a liquid chalky texture and went absolutely everywhere, definitely not the easiest thing to apply however it seemed to have helped as she then went on to have a really good nights sleep.

Day 5

A complete turnaround. I had to wake her up this morning and she woke up with a huge smile on her face and no fever. She ate all of her breakfast and drink and was back to her normal happy bubbly self. Still itchy so we continued with the piriton and plenty of fluids

2 weeks on

Milly is her usual energetic bouncy self. Her spots are still there however they are fading slowly.

3 Weeks on

She has a lot of scars from her chicken pox, however, they are fading very very slowly, She is also getting these red spots come up in random areas that look like bites, I have been told other children have had them after their chicken pox had gone. Weird.

A FEW HANDY TIPS

  • STOCK UP ON CALAMINE LOTION, PIRITON, CALPOL, POXCLIN, VIRASOOTHE

  • KEEP HE/SHE HYDRATED
